What to Expect on Your First Visit
Your first visit will take approximately 60 minutes. Education is a key part of our approach, and we believe it’s important for you to understand why we recommend certain types of care and how they support your overall health.
During your visit, you’ll watch a brief educational video that explains the history of chiropractic care and the benefits of chiropractic treatment. This helps set clear expectations and ensures you feel informed before moving forward.
Next, we’ll complete a focused chiropractic assessment. This includes evaluating posture and neurological function, assessing spinal health, and checking your range of motion to better understand how your body is moving and functioning.
Before your visit concludes, we’ll review our privacy policies and complete all required consent forms. A government-issued ID is required and must match the payment method. We accept major credit and debit cards, as well as cash.
After Your First Visit
The chiropractor may request chiropractic postural spinal X-rays. These help provide information such as:
- Position of spinal bones in relation to where the nerves sit
- Health of the spine
There are a number of reasons why X-rays won’t be requested. These are:
- Not necessary to complete treatment plan or diagnosis
- Pregnancy
- Age
- Recent usable spinal X-rays (in the last 2 years)
- Specific medical conditions
Should you require X-rays, we will refer you off site to a medical imaging clinic to get these done.
*If you have already had X-rays done, or any other diagnostic tests (MRI, CT Scan, etc.), please bring the report or a digital copy on your first visit.
Second Visit
Your second visit is your first adjustment. Unlike most offices, we do not adjust on the first visit. At Graceful Spinal Care, we will never guess with your health, so in order to give you the best care possible, Dr. Cohen goes over all your exams and X-rays (as needed) to create a care plan for your unique case.
Doctor's Report
This in-person presentation is where our chiropractor will review:
- Chiropractic education from previous visits
- The results from your chiropractic assessment
- The results of your chiropractic postural X-rays (as needed)
- Discussion and creation of your care plan, and provide specific instructions on how you can obtain the best possible results
At the end of the report, the doctor will meet with each person individually to address any questions you have.
